Statement by Louise Bradley, President & CEO of the Mental Health Commission to mark Remembrance Day

On behalf of the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Louise Bradley, President and CEO made the following statement:

“On November 11th we pause to remember the members of the Canadian Armed Forces who gave their lives to the service of our country in war, as well as during peacekeeping and peace time operations.

It is important that we also remember all of those who have served, survived and live with the lasting legacy of their service. At the Mental Health Commission of Canada, we are dedicated to improving the lives of those who have survived conflict, yet continue their fight on a different field, in overcoming the impact that their service has had on their mental wellness.

We must stand in solidary with Canadian heroes, and look after their needs as if they were our own.  They deserve nothing less.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them”

Lest we forget.”
