Courses

Below are evidence-based mental health training courses grounded in best practices, including free offerings from the Mental Health Commission of Canada and additional programs delivered through our social enterprise, Opening Minds.

Mental Health Training Progams from MHCC

This course is provided for free online for employees across Canada. The goal is to help employees understand the 13 psychosocial workplace factors from the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

More importantly, the program demonstrates what can impact employee mental health and what we can all do to support ourselves and others in the workplace.

To help expand the use of e-mental health services, the MHCC developed four online learning modules based on our Toolkit for E-Mental Health Implementation, in collaboration with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

These free, self-directed modules are designed to give mental health providers, managers, and leaders the knowledge and skills they need to integrate e-mental health into daily practice and support effective, person-centered e-mental health projects.

Free, accredited training for physicians and nurses to build confidence and skills for compassionate conversations about suicide. Developed by MHCC with CASP and mdBriefCase.

Take this free, self-paced course to learn how stigma impacts mental health—and how you can challenge discrimination. Three practical modules help you raise awareness, change attitudes, and create a more inclusive environment.

Structural stigma in policies and models of care means unequal treatment for people living with mental health versus physical health conditions.

Accredited by the Canadian College of Health Leaders, and created in partnership with CHA Learning, The Mental Health Structural Stigma in Healthcare e-learning course supports health-care leaders, providers, and administrators to better understand and address structural stigma in their settings. Hear what our participants have to say about the course and how it can help you advocate for change.
